The Rich Township Food Pantry is dedicated to supporting our community by providing essential groceries and personal care items to residents facing food insecurity. As a vital service of Rich Township, the pantry ensures that qualifying households receive nutritious food in a respectful and welcoming environment.

Donations

Monetary

We rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, schools, community organizations, and ongoing efforts of many local churches. No gift is too small to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Financial donations are used to purchase the food and supplies distributed to our clients.

Food

All food donations are needed and truly welcomed*

Organize a Food Drive: at your school, work place, church or other membership organization.

Food Donation Checklist:

We accept items with current “best by” or “use by” dates
All food items must be in original unopened package
Drop food off daily from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Year-Round Needs:

Non-perishable food items canned, boxed and dry foods
Fresh vegetables
Fruit juices; canned, plastic or boxed
Other healthy, low-fat, low-sodium, low-sugar products
Ziplock quart and gallon-sized bags
Baby formula & food
Disposable diapers (adult and infant) all sizes
Personal care products such as: band-aids, body soap, lotion, deodorant, razors, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.

Support Rich Township

Volunteer

The Pantry would not exist without the help of Community Volunteers. Volunteers repackage food, shelf inventory, pack bags, distribute food, greet and assist clients organize food drives. They also help plan fundraisers, walk to help STOP HUNGER, set up and run Free Produce Day, and much more. In 2022 friends & neighbors volunteered over 7,000 hours. We couldn’t do this without your help.

Who Is Eligible?

The Rich Township Food Pantry provides free groceries to individuals and families who reside within Rich Township.

To qualify for pantry services, residents must meet the following:

Residency Requirement: You must live within the official boundaries of Rich Township. Proof of residency is required at the time of registration and may include a current utility bill, lease agreement, government-issued ID, or any official document that verifies your name and Rich Township address.

Income Guidelines: Households must meet the Emergency Food Program Income Eligibility Guidelines, which are based on household size and total income. These guidelines help ensure that assistance is provided to those who need it most.

Service Frequency: Eligible households may receive groceries once every thirty (30) days.

If you do not reside in Rich Township, you may receive a one-time emergency food package and will be provided with referrals to food pantries that serve your area.

Registration

To access pantry services, please bring your Greater Chicago Food Depository Pantry Card. If you do not have one, on-site registration is available during your first visit.

What We Provide

Each eligible household receives 4 or more bags of groceries, which may include:

Non-perishable food items
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Dairy products
Frozen meats
Personal hygiene and care products

All items are distributed based on availability.

We also offer specialty items upon request, including:

Baby food and infant formula
Adult incontinence supplies

The Pantry of Rich Township, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, relies on the generosity of individuals, schools, businesses, and organizations to continue its vital work.
