Calvin Jordan
Supervisor
Calvin Jordan is an accomplished business proprietor, elected government official, and board member possessing over 30 years of progressive experience specializing in Leadership, Business and Community Development through the design, implementation, and oversight of municipal programs, social economic and community development. Motivated by challenges associated with bridging people together with organizations and resources to promote and sustain progress; ethically energized by the results of promoting sound business, governance, and human rights practices within vulnerable populations. Supervisor Jordan also served as the Township’s Highway Commissioner for 20 years, from 2001 to 2021. Supervisor Jordan also serves as a board member at Franciscan Alliance Hospital since 2007.
Professionally he worked for the Cook County Board of Commissioners for over 22 years; first as a budget analyst and then later as the special assistant to the late former Cook County Board President John H. Stroger.
Supervisor Jordan received his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Additionally, he has a certificate in Executive Development from DePaul University.
Responsibilities of the Supervisor
Pursuant to Chapter 60, Section 70 of the Illinois
Compiled Statutes, the Supervisor is the elected Chief Executive Officer of the Township, and has four primary responsibilities.
