Senior Services & Activities

If you are age 50 years or older or disabled, live in Rich Township, and have an established need for services, we are here to serve you. There are no requirements to participate in our social activities-all are welcome!

Please see our senior calendar that is within our News Letter and find out what exciting and informative events are going on this month!


We will be serving lunch at 12 Noon, on Mondays , Wednesdays and Fridays!! You must make your reservation by stopping in, or call two days in advance 708-228-5046. Please look at our calendar, to check the menu !! Monthly Lunch Calendar within the News Letter.


The Rich Township Senior Center is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to the homebound. If you would like to devote about 1 hour, once a week, to assist with this very worthwhile program, please call JoJo Martin 708-748-5454. A back-ground check is required for all volunteers.

Information and Referral:We offer information about available township programs as well as referrals to other agencies as needed. (Back to top)

Transportation: Door-to-door service to seniors as well as younger handicapped adults. Reserve your ride two days in advance, or one hour ahead for shopping. (Back to top)

Sharing and Caring: Senior volunteers periodically contact Township residents to offer information. Income Tax Assistance: This is a free service by trained AARP volunteers. They will prepare income tax returns, for seniors age 60 and up, from February 1st through April 15th, Monday through Friday. For more information on how to sign up, please click here. (Back to top)

In-Home Services: Light housekeeping, shopping and laundry for seniors needing such assistance. Screened In-Home Workers are available after an in-home evaluation establishes a need. (Back to top)

AARP Safety Driving Program: The AARP Safe Driving Class will be held at our Senior Center , The classes will be from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day. You must attend both sessions in order to become certified. The class will help update you on driving rules, and can qualify seniors for a discount on their car insurance. Call for the next session. Computer Classes: Held at the Leonard Robinson Family Service Center, these are free classes for adults and seniors who want to learn computer basics or brush up on their skills. For more information on the classes, please stop in on Mondays or Tuesdays to signup. (Back to top)
